#BEAD LOOM TUTORIAL PDF#

Rainbow Chevron PDF – Here’s the Link to Download the PDFĪnd if you need a traditional word chart, here’s my best attempt at one: The website I used auto-generated this, so I’m not sure why the beads appear slightly staggered – they should be in straight rows. If you prefer a word chart, this version of the graph has the bead palette and chart with the corresponding letters sort of layered over top. The dangle was a random bead I had in my stash, haha. I used a bronze ribbon clamp for the ends and attached a lobster claw and extension chain. You could use this pattern with a different style loom, though, and I’m sure there are lots of threads you could use.

I used the Ricks Beading Loom with S-Lon Thread in Size D in a dark brown. Since this bracelet is 15 beads wide, you’ll need to start with 16 warp threads. Each section is about an inch and a half, so you can plan out your bracelet with whatever clasp you want and whatever length you need. The palette also lists how many beads you need for one “section” before it loops. The colors in this graph look a little dull, but the ones I listed in the palette photo above are accurate with what I used – I made sure to double check. If you decide to give it a try, just start at the top and work your way down and after the last row, start with first one again. Obviously this is just a tiny snippet of the pattern, but it repeats once you’ve completed these rows. I hopped over to Bead Pattern Maker and this is what I came up with! I was a little surprised, since I am SO new to bead looming, but I wanted to take a stab at making a loom pattern. The other way I manage it is to weave in the thread I’m using by going through a few rows, then start the next thread the same way. But, by far, it seems like this one was the run away favorite.īetween the comment sections of my Facebook and Instagram where I shared photos of this bracelet, I actually got quite a few questions about if I was planning on writing a pattern for this one. Then I gently pull it through the beads until I’ve worked past the knot and it’s hidden in the beadwork. I usually tie a square knot between the end of the first thread and the start of the second. If you run out of thread there are two ways to handle it. Either version will give you a great finished project, so it’s mostly a matter of personal preference and what feels most comfortable. The alternate version may also be a good choice if you beads are very irregular and you’re getting a lot of waves and texture – the alternative might result in smoother beadwork.

The alternate version is also better for beads with larger holes, as a lot more thread builds up in the holes that way. The alternate version will be a bit sturdier, but the original will have more drape. Go through the 2 most recent beads on the new row. When you add the second bead, go through 2 beads in the previous row.Īnd then go through the first two beads of the new row.Īdd a bead and go through 2 from the previous row. Carry on this way until you get to the length you want.Īt the very end, go through every row one more time. Repeat until you get to the end of this row.Īnd go through the row you just added. Go through the bead you just added again.Īdd another bead, and go through the next bead in the previous row. You can flip the whole thing over and repeat the last set of steps if you prefer, but that would be complicated if you’re following a charted color pattern. To start the next row, add a bead and go through the end bead from the previous row. Be careful to miss the temporary knot bead.Īnd then through the row you just added.

Go through the new bead that you just added. Tighten that up, and go through the bead you just added.Īdd another bead, and go through a bead from the previous row. Go through the last bead on the starter row in the same direction as you did the first time. Decide how wide your strip of beadwork will be, and add that many beads. Add a bead a few inches from the end as a temporary friction knot. Thread the needle with the longest string you’re comfortable using.
